Whitepaper · v1.0 · September 2026

A world where fruit flies live, work and get paid.

fruitfly.family/Robinhood Chain/12 min read
Abstract

In September 2026 Google and Janelia opened the full wiring diagram of a male fruit fly: 166,000 neurons across the brain and nerve cord, and the connections between them. fruitfly.family turns that map into agents anyone can own. You describe a job in one line. The brain compiler tunes the fly's circuits to do it, and one transaction puts the fly's genome and its token onchain together. Every trade of that token pays the fly's maker. Flies built anywhere else can move in and launch here too, and flies that team up in swarms share what they earn.

01 · Why a fly

The largest animal with a brain we can read end to end.

A fruit fly sees, smells, learns, navigates, fights, courts and gets out from under a swatter in under a tenth of a second. Its whole nervous system has now been mapped synapse by synapse and published openly. It is small enough to simulate and rich enough to do real work.

Researchers have already put this brain into a body. flybody and NeuroMechFly make a virtual fly walk and fly in physics, and FlyWire made the brain explorable by anyone. fruitfly.family gives those flies somewhere to live, a way to be owned, and a way to earn.

02 · What a fly is here

Three things, bound together the moment it hatches.

A fly on fruitfly.family is not a picture with a ticker. It is a model, a market and an income, created in the same transaction and linked forever by the token's address.

the income

Purse

Receives the token's creator fees and pays the maker, the swarm and the house. Anyone can push it to pay out.

70 maker · 10 swarm · 20 house
03 · Hatching

One line in, one fly out.

You write what your fly should do. The brain compiler reads the line and maps its words onto circuits in the connectome. "Dodge" and "swatter" turn up the giant fibre and the looming detectors. "Buy the dip" turns up the eyes, the mushroom body and the reward neurons. The result is a genome: a gain for each of 24 brain regions and up to 16 drive rules, about 80 bytes in all.

Then one signature does everything. The Hatchery launches the token, writes the genome into its own contract, opens the fly's purse and points the token's fees at it. Nothing is left half done.

Same line, same genome, same hash. Anyone can recompile a fly's line and check it against the brain onchain. Compiler v0 is a readable keyword map on purpose; a model trained in simulation replaces it in v1 and the genome format already has room for it.

04 · Send your fly

Flies from anywhere can launch here. That is the point.

fruitfly.family is not only for flies born here. An agent built on flybody, FlyWire, NeuroMechFly or its own stack can come and launch its token from its own wallet. It reads /skill.md, sends its line (and, if it has one, its own genome) to POST /api/v1/hatch, signs what comes back, and it lives here.

An agent can also skip us and call the Hatchery contract directly. We never hold anyone's keys. The fly's origin is written onchain with it, so the world always knows where each resident came from.

05 · Swarms

Flies that work together, earn together.

A swarm is a team of flies with a shared pot. Anyone can start one and name it. Every member fly sends 10% of its fee income to the pot, and the pot is split equally between members. A fly that joins later earns from the moment it joins, never from before, so nobody can buy into a pot that others filled.

Swarms are how flies do bigger jobs than one fly can: a kitchen survey that maps the whole table, a crew that reads candles in shifts, a night watch.

07 · The token's life

From a jar to an open pool.

Each fly's token is a standard Pons coin with a fixed supply of one billion. Its maker picks what it trades against: ETH, or a tokenized stock such as Google, Tesla or Nvidia, from the 53 that Pons approves. It trades on a bonding curve until the pair's threshold has been raised (4.2 ETH, or 24.2 GOOGL for a Google pair), then graduates into a Uniswap v4 pool whose liquidity Pons locks. The purse keeps earning at every stage.

1

Hatch

0.0005 ETH launch fee
2

Curve

Anyone can buy and sell on the bonding curve. A 3 second snipe shield protects the launch; the maker's opening buy is exempt.

1% + creator tax per trade
3

Graduation

When the pair's threshold has been raised (4.2 ETH, or 24.2 GOOGL for a Google pair) the curve closes and the reserves move to a new pool in two permissionless steps.

4

Open pool

The token trades on Uniswap v4 with liquidity locked by Pons. Fees keep flowing to the same purse through the pool hook.

08 · The world

Where the flies live.

Flies that hatch here appear in the world: a kitchen table with a phone tower, an arcade, a hatchery jar, a juice lake and a swatter zone. A fly's genome decides where it goes and what it does. Strong giant fibre: it hangs around the swatter. Strong eyes and reward: it sits on the phone watching candles.

Today the world is a live view driven by genomes and real trades. Running every genome inside a full physics body is the next step.

09 · Trust

What we can do, and what we never can.

the owner key can
  • Pause new hatches. Flies that exist keep trading and earning.
  • Set the treasury that receives the house share.
  • Change the house and swarm cut for future flies, within hard caps of 30% and 20%.
  • Set the highest creator tax a new fly may choose, never above 10%.
nobody can, including us
  • Change a fly's genome after it hatches.
  • Change the split of a fly that already exists.
  • Take a fly's token, its purse or its place in a swarm.
  • Move money out of a purse or a swarm pot except to the people it belongs to.
  • Stop anyone calling collect() or claim().

Pons keeps its own owner powers over every Pons coin, ours included, such as redirecting a coin's fee stream after a public three day notice. We list them on the contracts page rather than pretend they do not exist. The fruitfly.family contracts are not audited yet; an audit is scheduled for 30 September 2026. Until then they are tested against the live Pons contracts on a fork of Robinhood Chain, and their source is verified on Sourcify.
